Saturday

North Beach

"North Beach" is a 14" x 18" study for a larger oil painting.  It depicts a morning in the autumn on North Beach, Seabrook Island, South Carolina.  There were a few walkers, but otherwise the beach was empty.  It's a peaceful place to be-- The only sounds are from waves and birds.

Wednesday

Oak Tree by the Tidal Marsh

This is an early evening scene on the marsh near my home in South Carolina.  The water was very calm on this day, which I love, because the reflections in the water are so clear.  The sky was cloudless. This is a very small painting, but it could be a study for a larger one.

Thursday

White Rose

This is a small oil painting, about 8" x 10", not including the frame.  It was inspired by a flower in a lovely bouquet of white flowers, given to me by a friend.

Sunday

Marsh in January-- Small Oil Painting

This oil painting is just 8" x 10", on canvas. The view is very similar to other paintings I have done. This one will be donated to a charity auction.

Friday

Marsh in Winter

This is a painting of the marsh behind my home. I like to capture the area when the tide is high, so that the pines are reflected in the water.

Thursday

Stono River Marsh

This marsh is part of the Stono River, near Charleston. In the winter, the marsh grass turns a golden color. The trees are mainly tall southern pines. The colors in this painting are as rich as those in Marsh in Winter-- they just don't show up that way in the photo.
